“With an experience of serving 25 to 30 Patients per day and about 16000 patients per year in the last four years of working for the Department of Medical Oncology in NICRH, Dhaka, I feel passionate and committed to serving my patients in any capacity
in preventing, treating, curing and caring my cancer patients, using the most sophisticated tools and procedures available to oncologists.”

Speaking from my experience, it is a common scenario to see patients with 3rd or 4th stage cancer appear for treatment when it gets beyond curable. With that being said, it is in the best interest of anyone above the age of 35 to do a routine checkup every year. It is always worthwhile to be self-aware and seek consultations and counselling in order to prevent cancer from spreading to an incurable stage. Keeping that in mind, a plethora of services and sub-services are at the disposal of my patients that are aimed at preventing and curing early-stage cancer.

Cancer may strike anybody at any age, however, the risk increases with age. Your personal risk is determined by variables such as whether you smoke, your lifestyle choices such as what you eat and how much exercise you get, your family history of cancer, and workplace and environmental factors.

Is Cancer Genetic?

Yes, it is a genetic disease, but it mostly depends on an individual’s lifestyle. But it is better to get a genetic test if cancer runs in your family.

Is Cancer Contagious?

No, cancer is not contagious at all. But it is better to have separate utensils and bathrooms for cancer patients.

Can Cancer be cured?

Yes, cancer can be cured if it is identified in the early stages. The longer cancer is in complete remission, the less probable it is to return, and your doctor may declare the disease to be cured at some time.

Does Cancer have symptoms?

Sometimes but not always. It mainly depends on the size and location of the cancer cells. But if you feel a sturdy lump on your skin, bloated stomach, weight loss, fatigue & eating problems for more than 2 weeks, you should immediately consult your medical physician.
